Vision unhindered…

Another ‘borrowed message’ (but they are GOOD!)

From The Word For You Today by Bob Gass Ministries

“For the vision…will surely come.”
Habakkuk 2:3

Obstacles can’t steal your dream without permission. Winston Churchill rallied blitzed, beleaguered Britian from the edge of defeat with these memorable words: “Never give up! Never give up! Never, never, never give up!” When you walk in faith and refuse to quit, God guarantees your obstacles won’t prevent your vision from being fulfilled. Though they were enslaved, Israel received the strength to overcome Egypt’s efforts to break them. The story of their survival and success reads: “The more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew” (Exodus 1:12 NKJV). Paul’s dream of evangelizing the world met roadblocks at every turn. Tightening his grip he declared, “We are hard-pressed on all sides, but…never frustrated; we are puzzled, but never in despair. We are persecuted, but never…deserted: we may be knocked down but we are never knocked out!” (2 Co 4:8-9). Joseph’s journey to the throne led him through betrayal, persecution and loneliness. His dream, still alive and unsurrendered, was put on hold for years. Vindicated in the critics’ eyes, his dream at last realized, he recalls the amazing way in which God accomplished it. “For,’ he said, ‘God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction'” (Genesis 41:52 NAS). He refused to surrender his dream- it’s what kept him alive.

going for the goal
nothing is gonna stop me now!

God made him fruitful, not by exempting him from affliction but by promoting him right there, “in the land of my affliction.” Your obstacles can’t stop God; don’t let them stop you!

Disturbed…to super-size!

Animusic – Pipe Dreams and some borrowed thoughts about dreams for a New Year

‘borrowed with great respect from JasonCurlee.com:

Sir Francis Drake says…

“Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrive safely because we have sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us, Lord.”

This is one of my favorite quotes…

In fact as a pastor or ministry leader we should be asking the Lord to disturb us. We should be asking the Lord to super-size our dream.

Is your dream “your” sized or is it “God” sized? Does it keep you up at night? Does it drive you to your knees to seek Him?

It it’s not….it’s not a God-sized dream. And it will not produce the faith necessary to glorify God. God wants us to dream dreams that only He can make happen. When that happens He is glorified and we are not.

What size is your dream? Is it disturbing you?

HOPE International – Hands Up for Poverty

This initiative took place in October but the graphic nature of this fund-raising effort speaks volumes.

2010, what will we involve ourselves in?  …what will we put the work of our hands to?  As the hands say,

“Lord, may YOU establish the work of our H A N D S.”

Psalm 90:17b

Judging too quickly

Silent Night at Willow Creek

This Christmas, I want to share again how easy it is to prejudge others. Bill Hybels and Willow Creek Community Church were identified with a phrase ‘seeker friendly’ years ago. In my mind, this meant Jesus lite and I thought that was just wrong….no I never read anything by him nor did I watch anything done by them…they were obviously in error and I was not so sure we would even occupy the same Heaven…well, this past year GOD has busted me so big! GOD gives assignments to many many of His children and few are even similar…He is the King and it is His good pleasure to give certain jobs to certain people…iron sharpens iron…so don’t judge….just realize that you have heard GOD’s voice, but so have they!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
