New Beginnings

Matthew 6:33 Amplified Bible (AMP) –

But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

God is speaking to us in so many ways, but on this first day  of a New Year, I just want to sense that He is first. Above everything else.   If I observe, I will see Him, I will hear Him, I will follow Him. I think He wants us to recognize Him first so that everything else falls into proper order. He is God of order and purpose. Genesis 2 tells us that we are given the task of subduing the earth and everything in it. He also tells us that He has a great purpose for each of us. That is enough to set our course, to give us correct motivation.

Jeremiah 29:11 Amplified Bible (AMP) –

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

Bible Reading today: Genesis 1, 2. Luke 1. The beginning of all human conversation with God. Luke 1 tells us the supernatural story of the prophet John The Baptist and Jesus our Messiah.

Expecting in 2011

Mark 11:24 (New King James Version)

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

So we begin a New Year.  New things are promised in many places in the Bible.  But this is the verse I am starting this year holding onto as a reference point. He is committed to His word and to us.

Much more to say but this is my starting point.   May each of you be blessed in the next new thing GOD gives you every day.  REVEL in it!

It begins with life and breath and yet is so much more.

Jesus so loves you so much! So much more to come…in fact, the BEST is yet to come!
